Anna Burnett

Anna is honored to join the Marcus Performing Arts Center of East Northport, Long Island. Working at the Center, she credits theatre and the arts with teaching her how to express herself and for giving her a place of refuge. Anna hopes to inspire and uplift children through the arts, sharing the powerful impact that music and creative expression have on the body and soul. Anna has always loved working with children. She credits these experiences for teaching her the importance of community in child development—and a love for the arts.
Anna attended Manhattan College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. During her undergraduate years, she was actively involved in the Manhattan College Players Music Department as well as the Model United Nations Team. She eventually became head delegate and was inspired mentor, Professor Pam Chasek, as they attended conferences at the United Nations in New York City to discuss complex global issues and develop meaningful solutions. Through this experience, Anna came to deeply value education as a force that empowers and inspires.
Music played a central role in Anna’s college experience. As a member of the Manhattan College Singers, she was honored to tour Canada as a soloist under the direction of her music teachers and she performed with the a cappella group Manhattantones. Anna is proud to be part of the academic sorority Sigma Delta Tau, where she formed lasting creative partnerships.
In addition, Anna was actively involved with the Manhattan College Players, participating in student-led showcases and mainstaged productions. She later directed a student showcase titled V-Day, a global activist movement founded by Eve Ensler (now known as V) in 1998, dedicated to ending violence against women, girls, gender-diverse people, and the Earth. Anna brought this powerful movement to life, an experience she considers both humbling and transformative.
Following her undergraduate studies, Anna pursued graduate school at Manhattan College and earned her Master of Business Administration with a focus on marketing, leadership, and sustainability. While completing her degree, Anna worked in the IT Department, there she gained invaluable experience from leaders and colleagues. She continued to participate in student-led productions and hosted her own campus radio shows, Fairy Hour and Slay Hour.
Anna takes great pride in the arts and is passionate about giving back to the community by teaching children through creative expression. She believes the Marcus Performing Arts Center is a place of empowerment, confidence-building, and restoration—and she is proud to be part of its mission.
