Music Instruction for Children and Teens
The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in New York provides a classroom for music instruction. Music training is directly associated with brain plasticity and the transfer of learning to other cognitive functions, particularly visual-spatial and mathematical performance. Also, children who study music have greater growth in manual dexterity and verbal tasks. The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts provides music instruction to children 3 to 17 years of age. The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts will offer music instruction in Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble and Orchestra. Public performance is an important part of the learning process in music and in addition to giving a sense of accomplishment, performances set goals for students, refine skills and allow the student and teacher to make an objective assessment of individual student progress. All students are invited to participate in the final Recital.
