Fall 2023 Theater Arts Program

Parents, please fill out our online form to select the program your child will attend for the Fall 2023 Theater Arts Program. Upon completing the form, you will be prompted to pay online. You can also fill out the PDF of our fall program application, rate sheet, and general fall class schedule and mail it with your payment to 107 E. Deer Park Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746.

Class Descriptions

These are suggested age groups that are subject to change. If your child is more or less experienced than their suggested age group, they can be considered for other class placements upon evaluation.

Ballet 1- (Ages 4-6)
This is a beginner class. Dancers will learn basic ballet terminology, technique.

Ballet 2- (Ages 7-9)
This is a beginner to intermediate class. Dancers will learn to build upon their basic ballet technique by exploring aspects of dance such as musicality and choreography.

Ballet 3- (ages 10+)
This is an intermediate to advanced ballet class. Dancers are expected to have previous ballet or dance training, as they will be learning more advanced techniques and choreography.

Jazz 1- (Ages 6-9)
This is a beginner to intermediate class. These dancers will learn basic jazz technique while exploring the fun and funky side of dance with upbeat choreography.

Jazz 2- (ages 10+)
This is an intermediate to advanced class. These dancers are expected to have previous dance training as they will be learning fast moving choreography, requiring a high level of body and space awareness.

Musical Theater Dance 1- (Ages 6-9)
This is an open level class. These dancers will be learning dances to songs from well known and age appropriate musicals. This style is theatrical, performance based, and a good fit for all!

Musical Theater Dance 2- (ages 10+)
This is an open level class. These dancers will be learning dances to songs from well known and age appropriate musicals. This style is theatrical, performance based, and a good fit for all!

Little Stars- (ages 2-4, or walking)
This class is designed for our tiniest dancers to explore new movements with their grownups! Mommies, Daddies, Grandmas, Grandpas, or any adult guardians are required to stay and dance with their little star!

Lyrical/Contemporary 1- (Ages 6-9)
This is a beginner to intermediate class. These dancers will learn to explore the more emotional and artistic side of dance. These styles are more graceful and intricate compared to others.

Lyrical Contemporary 2- (ages 10+)
This is an intermediate to advanced class. These dancers will learn to explore the more emotional and artistic side of dance. Dancers will be expected to have a more mature understanding of their quality of movement. Not just their technique, but how it is applied.

Acting 1- (Ages 5-7)
This is a beginner level class. Students will be exposed to the basic fundamentals of acting through scene work, improv games, and character exploration . Selected plays and scenes will be appropriately chosen for age and experience level. Disclaimer: children enrolled in Acting 1 must be able to read, as we will be using scripts for our scene work.

Acting 2- (Ages 8-10)
This is a beginner to intermediate level class. Students will dive deeper into what it means to be an actor by learning more specific acting techniques and applying them to various scenes. This curriculum includes monologue delivery, character / scene study, and scene work with fellow actors.

Acting 3- (Ages 11+)
This is an intermediate to advanced level class. Students will engage with a variety of famous acting techniques and apply them to more advanced scenes and monologues. Specific attention will also be given to how to properly prepare for an audition to build confidence and techniques for any opportunity that comes their way. Previous acting experience is strongly encouraged.

Voice for Musical Theater 1 (Ages 5-7)
This is a beginner level class. Students will learn how to properly use their voice to sing selections from age-appropriate musicals. We will also be learning vocal exercises that will provide them with a strong foundation for singing.

Voice for Musical Theater 2 (Ages 8-10)
This is a beginner to intermediate level class. Students will strengthen their vocal technique through various musical theater songs. Greater attention will be placed on facets such as vocal projection, diction, and musicality.

Voice for Musical Theater 3 (Ages 11+)
This is an intermediate to advanced class. Students will be building their repertoire and audition preparation skills through exposure to more challenging pieces that are deemed appropriate for them. We will be giving these songs greater attention to allow them to serve as ready-to-go audition songs when needed.

Stage Direction (Highschoolers)
This is an open level class for actors who want to try their hand in directing. We will be learning fundamental directing techniques while having the opportunity to workshop scenes with the class. Students will also have the opportunity to showcase their own writing and direct them from start to finish.
